Scarlet Bar Chicago – Always Improving Party Machine

DID YOU KNOW HOW SCARLET BAR GOT ITS NAME?

“Scarlet reaches back in time for its inspiration and
theme starting with its name. In the 1920’s, members of the GLBT
community wore a piece of scarlet colored clothing to signal their
affiliation to others. Traditionally, scarlet is the color of flame.

Further inspiration came from the “pansy craze” of the early 1930s.
Gay life in Chicago, New York, and other cities was more visible and
accepted. Lesbian salons attracted sightseers to Towertown (now known
as the Magnificent Mile), while drag entertainers were a feature at
South Side clubs.

It would take close to 50 years before the seeds of the GLBT
community were planted in Lakeview. Today, it isn’t necessary to wear a
small piece of scarlet, we can display it proudly across the top of our
door.”

Originators of Frat Night, Liquid Brunch, The First Ward Ball and Dance-off with Your Pants off! Scarlet Bar is a fun place to be! Probably the FUNNEST. Scarlet has enjoyed a rapid ascension on Halsted. Since it’s opening, the venue  continues to win new fans with an almost cultlike following thanks to Frat-boy parties; sexy bartenders dressing up and flowing Champagne on Sunday with music provided by outstanding top DJ’s from all over the city.
Scarlet opened in 2007 then suffered fire and water damage in 2009. And since then, continues to evolve and make improvements and small changes to fine tune this well greased party machine. They recently updated and added new murals, granite bar tops, new wall coverings and new dj booth and they moved it back farther, new floors, and a new FunktionOne sound system. FunktionOne are Renowned designers and manufacturers of the highest quality sound reinforcement equipment and original founders of Turbosound! Scarlet can REALLY ROCK IT OUT NOW! If you like great DJ’s and dancing, check it out!

There is also new drink menu designed by famed mixologist Ben Newby

About
Dance for Life

Dance
for Life
raises awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS care, prevention
and education, while promoting the art of dance in Chicago. Realizing that AIDS
had heavily affected the dance community, Dance
for Life was founded in 1992 as an inventive way for dancers and dance
companies, whose incomes do not normally allow for large donations, to be able
to contribute time, effort and badly needed funds for existing AIDS agencies.

website or on Facebook

Dani Toro and Circuit Mom Productions for IML Weekend in Chicago

IML 35! You have got tons of events all weekend coming up , but one of my favorites is always International Mr. Leather Victory Celebration Party concert  at HOUSE OF BLUES!  Sunday, May 26th.

This years DJ is the supersexy DANI TORO from Barcelona!
Based in Bacerlona (Spain) – Dani Toro is an artist that doesn’t fall under any labels, his music style is unique.

While he makes my mouth water, his sets are always strong and very energetic, which borderline between
Tribal House and Progressive, and blends it wellwith Mainstream House,
delightning the most demanding crowd.

He has worked at he best LGBT European Clubs. Although his career started back in 1999, he had his major
break in the LGBT Circuit Scene in 2009, by becoming one of the guest
headliners for MADRID Pride 2009 – which took place at Vazquez de Mella
square – where he played for a crowd of over 6000 people. Further more,
the same night, he played at Madrid’s Iconic Party “HEAVEN” (Madrid
Pride, 2009).

In the last few years (2010, 2011, 2012), Dani Toro has become a favorite headliner at Barcelona Pride.

Sitting in the audience for the 2010 Dance for Life benefit gala concert at the Harris Theater in Millennium park, my heart was passionately pumping as the dancers began and my soul took flight when the entire audience jumped to their feet in uproarious applause as the company devoured the full
stage, rushing and twirling, with their Spanish fans and toreador capes. ¡Ole!
We are honored to donate part of the proceeds from our Friday, June 21 opening gala performance to benefit Dance for Life. Saturday, House Of Blues hosts “WAR”
and the Chicago debut of the
sizzling sounds of Israeli producer/remixer DJ Aron Abikzer. Named by
OUT Magazine as a “Top 10 DJ’s You Should Know” for 2012, his meteoric
rise to DJ royalty takes him not only to Tel Aviv, NYC, Rio de Janeiro
and Mexico City,  but he also lit up White Party Miami this past
November and is headlining Alegria NYC this month and MasterBEAT LA
later this spring. His remixes, podcasts and Sound Cloud feeds are some
of the best tribal, vocal and house beats on the planet, plus pairing
him with another one of OUT Magazine’s “Top 10 DJ’s You Should Know”,
Chicago’s very own tribal god, DJ Phil DaBeatz, this will be a Saturday
night like no other.

On
Sunday, the completely remodeled EXCALIBUR (soon to be called The
Castle)
will make its phenomenal debut to the gay community with “PEACE”
featuring the iconic beats, vocals, remixes and dark sounds of
legendary Grammy nominated DJ Tony Moran.  Having not only written for
and produced virtually every major recording artist in the world, Tony
has also spun his masterful DJ sets to sold-out audiences from Tai Pei
to Toronto. His long-awaited return to Chicago is the perfect time to
unveil the redesigned, state-of-the-art sound, lighting and space at
Excalibur guaranteed to blow your mind.  In our continuing quest to
introduce new talent to Chicago, we present another amazing debut for
FREEDOM REVOLUTION in DJ Cindel Coss.  Raised on house music in Chicago
but also drawing on his Puerto Rican roots, this young, Miami-based
DJ/producer is quickly becoming known at “The King Of Drums”.  Citing
influences from Danny Tenaglia, Chus & Ceballos and Ralphi Rosario,
DJ Cindel has become masterful in his mix of drums and house vocals.  DJ
Cindel can go from pool party to afterhours with his sets and is the
perfect match for Tony Moran to bring Sunday nights’ event to a
climactic end to the weekend.
