Enjoy a celebratory Easter brunch at Kit Kat, complete with mimosas and build-your-own cocktails. On Sunday, April 5, the Lakeview Lounge and Supper Club will offer a four course prix fixe menu from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chef JoAnn Witherell’s menu, outlined below, includes mimosas, sangria or bloody martinis for $39.95 per person. The fierce and fabulous Diva Madam X will entertain brunch guests with live performances all day.
Kit Kat’s menu of martinis will be half-price ($7 each) including such seasonal selections as “In Bloom” (Pinnacle raspberry vodka, Pama liqueur, elder flower liqueur, champagne), “Strawberry Shortcake” (Pinnacle whipped vodka, strawberry liqueur, strawberry puree, splash of vanilla, pineapple juice and cream, garnished with graham cracker and whipped cream) and “Cabana Boy” (Cruzan coconut rum, vodka, Midori, banana liqueur, orange and pineapple juice).

Lake Shore Drive) in partnership with the Human Rights Campaign will host Turn it up for Change, a fundraising and awareness initiative in the fight for nationwide LGBT equality with special guests Grammy® and Academy Award® winner Jennifer Hudson, DJ White Shadow, Legendary Damon along with local Chicago Queens Trannika Rex, Precious Jewel and Shea Coulee.
The event is free and will begin at 9:00PM CST
and entry is available on a first come, first serve basis.
TURN IT UP FOR CHANGE launched in October 2014 and combines W’s longstanding support of the LGBT community with its ongoing passion for music. In partnership with HRC and Jennifer Hudson, W hopes to bring about real and lasting change for LGBT Americans in all 50 states. As part of the program, W Hotels around the country currently host monthly TURN IT UP FOR CHANGE music events, in which a portion of proceeds (equal the number of states that currently recognize same-sex marriage) is donated to HRC. Announces Short Films to Receive Chicago Premieres
Pride Films and Plays announces ten short films from the USA, Denmark, and Spain receiving their Chicago premieres during Queer Bits Fall Film Festival at the Public House Theatre (3914 N Clark) on November 10th, 2014.
Pride Films and Plays’ Queer Bits Fall Film Festival will include a sexy romp about a young man with an international taste in men, a poignant drama about an elderly woman revisiting an intense memory, two very different and festive animated films, a touching documentary about a gay couple living in the Deep South, a powerful lesbian drama about a dangerous crush, a fascinating examination of LGBT youth in America, a sweet coming-out tale set in high school, a smart look at two men trying to reconcile their dissimilar faiths, and a fun look at a relationship which one of the partners wants to make more open.
The screening commences at 7:30PM and will be followed by a brief talkback with some of the filmmakers. The Public House Theater bar will be open beginning at 6:30PM. Please come early and have a drink with us!
Warning: some of the short films contain adult themes, language, and brief nudity. You are going to love them!

About Queer Bits Film Festival
Queer Bits Film Festival is Pride Films and Plays’ recently re-titled Film Festival is now in its third year and prides itself in providing the best LGBT short films with their Chicago premieres.
The first screening and incarnation of Queer Bits occurred in November 2012 in Center on Halsted’s Hoover-Leppen Theatre. In November 2013, five short films received their Chicago-premieres in the same venue during Pride Films and Plays’ annual Gay Film Weekend. In June 2014, Pride Films and Plays presented Queer Bits Film Festival, a sold-out 90 minute program of short films and webisodes, which was followed in September 2014 by the Women’s Words Film Festival, a very successful program of short films and webisodes with lesbian characters and themes which were written and/or directed by women.
About Pride Films and Plays
Founded in 2010, Pride Films and Plays is a leading player in the development of GLBT plays and musicals, screenplays and films. Under A Rainbow Flag won Jeff Awards in 2013 for Best New Work and Best Musical, and The Children’s Hour won for Best Supporting Actor (Nora Lise Ulrey) in 2014. Our current season began with the Jeff Recommended Chicago premieres of Some Men by Terrence McNally and The Submission by Jeff Talbott.
The season continues with the highly anticipated world premiere of The Book of Merman by Leo Schwartz – Jeff Award Winner for Under A Rainbow Flag – opening in January at Mary’s Attic. It will be a followed by Topher Payne’s comedy Angry Fags which is included in the spring Garage Rep at Steppenwolf.
