From Chicago to Mexico…
OFFICIAL FILM TRAILER RELEASED for “EN ALGUN LUGAR”
The official video trailer has been released by Iconoclast for the motion picture “En Algun Lugar” (A Place to Be), which stars Nelson Rodriguez (Pride Films and Plays, Easy Abby) as Abel, and Andrew Saenz (Chicago PD, Sirens) as Diego, and written and directed by award winning filmmaker Tadeo Garcia (On the Downlow, Under Covers).
“En Algun Lugar” follows the relationship between Abel & Diego, from Chicago to Mexico.
When tragedy strikes and Diego’s undocumented immigration status is revealed, their love and sacrifice is put to the test through uncertain times that will affect their relationship. Tadeo Garcia’s provocative and intimate tale of love and fear of the unknown comes to life in a never before seen cinematic perspective produced by Aric S. Jackson (www.aricjackson.com) and Michael J. Sanow (Under Covers, Blood Brothers). Featuring the people, culture, dynamic geography and architecture of both Jalpa, Zacatecas; MEX and Chicago, Illinois; USA, the wonder of Tadeo Garcia’s story has captivated those involved both in front and behind the camera. The producers stress this would not be possible without the talents of cinematographer Charlie Garcia, production designer Pablo Ponce, casting director Stephanie Diaz, costume designer Freddy Rocha, makeup artists Lilien Harvey and Ruby Ortiz, and music from Los Pecados and The Pinto Bean.
The producers of the film also announce the release of “behind-the-scenes” photos and video clips via the film’s official website at www.enalgunlugarmovie.com and its social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) showing the cast and crew during the production of “En Algun Lugar.”

Chicago Gays Launch Web Series DUDES April 11th
Chicago is the home to a new web-series, DUDES, which launches Friday morning April 11. DUDES is a wry, comedic story centered around three friends who are all on the wrong side of thirty – and they know it. This smart, witty, and lightly randy comedy has been compared to Sex and the City or Ugly Betty.
When Tyler (played by Oak Park’s Shaun Baer) discovers his long-term boyfriend Jonathan (Artistic Director for Chicago Dell’Arte Nick Freed) cheating on him, he moves in with his ex-lover David (Ben Burke), a well-bred socialite, and Miles (Brian Greer), an unemployable yet well paid escort. DUDES follows Tyler’s attempts to bounce back in the Chicago dating scene while David and Miles realize their friends are moving on – and no one’s getting younger.
Viewers can tune in to www.dudestheshow.com beginning Friday, April 11, the exclusive website in which the series will air. An autographed copy of the Episode One Script will be auctioned off at the end of the weekend.
A quick follow-up survey after viewing will automatically enter viewers into the contest. Join in the fun even more with behind the scenes footage, production blog, and constant updates on Twitter and Facebook. No matter what, you’ll always know what’s going on with DUDES.
For anyone who’s gone through the scary time of turning thirty and thinking life isn’t exactly where you expected, DUDES is the show for you. Visit the show’s official website www.dudestheshow.com for updates as content becomes available.

The QU Unviels web Series…It’s like The View, but with Queer people
“It’s like The View, but with queer people. We talk about current events
and modern culture while creating our own colorful space in the
media.” Joey Grant (CoFounder)
The Qu (www.thequ.co) has
unveiled the cast of its upcoming web series, The Qu, with introductory
videos of each cohost. Comprised of six Chicagobased LGBTQ people,
The Qu’s cohosts embody the diversity found in Chicago’s
queer community.
“The way we watch television is rapidly changing
but what we watch on television is not,” said Qu cofounder and
producer, Erin O’Neal. “While there are huge strides being made
in queer television there is still a long way to go. The voices of the
LGBTQ community are just as important as those of the LGBTQ celebrity.”
As Hulu, Youtube and Netflix begin to create their own
original programming, the lack of LGBTQ visibility remains. Inspired by
the popular series The View, The Qu features a panel of four people who
identify as LGBTQ. The starter season will have 6 episodes
with Precious Davis, Harrison Luckett, Sarah Rosenblum, Crispin Torres,
Alberto Guitérrez (aka Mister Junior), and cofounder Joey Grant. The
webseries will include topics ranging from culture, politics,
and events, discussed through a vital Queer perspective.
