Emmylou Harris at Chicago's Dominican University October 24th

Dominican University will present Emmylou Harris and her Red Dirt Boys on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m.

The performance will be held in the Lund Auditorium, 7900 West Division Street, River Forest.

Known for her crystalline voice and extraordinary gifts as a singer-songwriter, Harris will return to Dominican to perform in the President’s Signature Concert. Her latest album, All I Intended To Be, tracks a career that spans over 30 years.

The album, recorded between tours with Neil Young, Elvis Costello and Mark Knopfler, is her first solo album since 2003 and features Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, and the McGarrigle sisters among others. Calling herself a “ gatherer of songs,” Harris has been able to discover and give new life to many beautiful but overlooked country, bluegrass or folk tunes.

Recognized as one of the most influential women in contemporary music, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Association Hall of Fame in 2008. This April she was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as a leader in humanities and the arts.

Tickets for this concert are $56 and $47.

Located just 10 miles west of Chicago’s Loop, Dominican’s Lund Auditorium offers the warm acoustics and intimate atmosphere of the country’s best concert halls. Parking is always free. For more information, contact the box office at (708) 488-5000.
