Theatrebam Chicago presents Schoolhouse Rock Live! (The Cabaret) at Mary’s Attic, the second floor lounge at Andersonville’s Hamburger Mary’s at 5400 North Clark Street in Chicago, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. for four weeks from Sept. 10 through Oct. 3. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the door, first-come, first-sold. The doors open at 7:30 and the show runs 60 minutes without intermission.

 
Schoolhouse Rock Live! is the Chicago-created theatrical version of the popular 1970s and 1980s Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning animated television series that taught thousands of kids about grammar, math, science and history in two- to three-minute segments. “Audiences sing along – and dance in the aisles – to “Unpack Your Adjectives,” “Just A Bill,” “Interplanet Janet,” “Conjunction Junction” and lots of other terrific Schoolhouse Rock! favorites,” says director Scott Ferguson.
 
“This special cabaret version of Schoolhouse Rock Live! is a perfect combination of songs, humor and nostalgia and just right for the upstairs bar at Hamburger Mary’s,” adds Ferguson. The show features Chicago actors Angie Wendt, Danny Taylor, Chris Walsh and Michelle Weissgerber.
 
Theatrebam opened the original Schoolhouse Rock Live! in Chicago in August 1993 to enthusiastic audiences and critical acclaim. The show ran for two years before moving to New York in 1995. After 11 months off Broadway, Schoolhouse Rock Live! returned to Chicago where it ran until 1997. Theatrebam continues to tour Schoolhouse Rock Live! to Chicagoland schools and youth groups. Also available through Music Theater International, Schoolhouse Rock Live! is performed throughout the United States and Canada.
