Todd Connor - candidate for the Chicago Metropolitan Water Reclamation District

If you have not paid attention to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD), you should.
The MWRD is an enormous agency with over 2,100 employees and an annual budget of more than $1.6 billion dollars. This year alone, the MWRD will spend more money than the CTA (Chicago Transit Authority). The agency builds and maintains the vast network of canals, sewers, and waste processing plants required to manage stormwater and water waste. It also ensures that our natural environment remains healthy and unpolluted from the increasing demands of our urban Chicago landscape.
With so much at stake, how come we know so little? Todd Connor plans to raise the awareness of this agency, and some of the reforms that are needed.
His decision to run for Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago is done in the same spirit as all of his endeavors—to serve honestly, work hard and make a difference. He has been endorsed by the Victory Fund, which finances GLBT candidates. There is a fundraiser at the end of the month at Mini Bar.
