On Monday, June 22, the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame will begin its 2009 fund-raising effort with its annual Pride and Joy Reception from 6 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Circuit Night Club, 3641N. Halsted Street.

Tickets are $10 and available from members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, from Hall of Fame inductees, and at the door at Circuit.
 
The evening will include a buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres provided by Rave Review Special Events. The 2008 Hall of Fame exhibit will be on display, and nomination forms for 2009 inductions will be available. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Ron G and members of the Circuit Night Club cast. MISS FOOZIE,  VERONICA  ZAID, PAULA SINCLAIRE, SEBASTION COCK and more!

 
Money raised from this event will be used to cover the expenses of the 2009 Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, at the Chicago Cultural Center. The ceremony is free and open to the public. In addition, a portion of these funds will be earmarked to support the Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame’s Web site. The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame's featured sponsors for the 2009 season include Boi Magazine, Circuit Night Club, J&L Catering, Miller Lite, Sidetrack, and Supergurl Images (list still in formation).
 
The Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame is privately funded through generous donations from individuals, businesses, organizations, and fundraisers such as the Pride and Joy Reception . Staff support is provided by the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, members of the Advisory Council on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, and volunteers. Chicago is the only known municipality that so honors its LGBT residents. The Hall of Fame not only pays tribute to individuals and organizations but also documents the communities' heritage and diversity through its annual publication online.
