Gay Halloween in Boystown Chicago Friday October 31st

HALLOWEEN is expected to draw HUGE crowds this weekend, since the gay holiday falls on a Friday night!12th Annual Triangle Neighbors' Northalsted Halloween Parade will kick off at  at 7PM

The costume parade has become the city’s most renowned Halloween event drawing thousands of spectators.  "It’s a creative, fun and entertaining event for the entire community that raises funds for our community garden park.  And a Friday night parade means a huge crowd so we’ve extended the parade route north to Addison (versus stopping at Cornelia).  We're excited to announce Miss Foozie has agreed to emcee the parade again this year!"

Thousands are expected to either participate in or view the parade which has quickly grown to become one of the Chicago area's must-attend Halloween events.  Estimates from prior years suggest over 10,000 people descend on Lake View for the two-hour long festivities.  It could be much higher this year, since it's a Friday night. The parade draws a broad mix of area residents including children, families and their pets. Get there early to hold a viewing space!

There will be over $4000 in costume contest cash and prizes.  Winners of the costume contest for kids and pets will be announced immediately after the parade.

Adult and group costume contest winners will be announced on the main stage at the end of the parade.

As in past years, we expect to see costumes from garish to ghoulish-worn by adults, kids and pets. The costume contest has been a huge success and we anticipate imaginations to run wild again this year!

It’s the year of the “Rat” in Chinese Zodiac and so we’re hoping to see everything from “Ratatouille” to “The Rat Pack” to “Rugrats”, lead by our very own "
Franken-Rat".

Free registration for the costume contest for children, pets, adults and groups begins at 5:30 p.m. at Spin, 800 W. Belmont.

Parade participants must register by 6:45 p.m. in order to march in the parade.

A special prize will be awarded to the costume that best represents the theme of the parade.
