will be presenting gay artist
ALEXANDER VON AGOSTON, from Berlin.

 October 4th and 5th.  Noon-6pm

Why a Berlin artist in Chicago?!

Alexanders grandfather was actually raised here in Chicago. And coincidentally, Alexander was discovered by FOTA's  Richard Lange at a Berlin show! "He invited me to  Chicago and gave me room to work  at the fota space in Cornelia Arts Building Chicago..." said Alexander. He has also shown his work here in Chicago at the Around the Coyote show in the Flat Iron Art Building.

He does some great  Sailor portraits,  with the attraction of muscular torsos and tight-fitting trousers with that je ne sais quoi of romanticism in those eyes that seem always search for the horizon, and nudes in an expressive naturalism with strong colors and lively energy that return such a warmth even though the poses retain what we could name quite a romantic decency in spite of those sexes showing without ostentation, as well as more classic themes, like landscapes and still life.
