Nestled half way between  BOYSTOWN and ANDERSONVILLE is the up and coming UPTOWN. Still going through growing pains, we hope the area will boom in the coming few years.  There are a couple  gay bars there and the gay-owned UNIQUE SO CHIC, voted the best tea room in Chicago and one of the best weekend Brunch spots in the city!

This weekend is Experience Uptown Walkfest... September 12, 13 and 14. This event will be in conjunction with the Magnolia/ Malden/ Racine Block Club Party (Saturday 13th  noon - 5pm). Bracelets for Experience Uptown are $10 and may be purchased in advance at Marigold Restaurant, Unique So Chique and the Spot, and on the weekend of the event at several outdoor locations. This is a great way to show support to businesses within our own community as well as have a fun-filled, less expensive weekend without even leaving Uptown.

The bracelets will allow individuals to receive discounts at over 40 businesses throughout Uptown. Some discounts are: Annoyance Theatre with 1/2 price midnight shows, Marigold with 1/2 price select appetizers and $4 martinis, Crew with 20% off all food and alcohol, Subway with a free drink with purchase, 10% off the entire menu at Express Chicken and Ribs, and much much more.
