Our Mayor is very big on flowers and public art and throughout the year, the gardens change on Michigan Avenue as well as special art installations. Now throught the end of May, are  TULIP DAYS. With a  Kinetic Art Installation from Chicago's Architects.

Renowned architecture firms have designed a one-of-a-kind public art installation highlighting architecture and the environment in Chicago. The exhibit features 16 kinetic sculptures, each varying in size and function, displayed along North Michigan Avenue. Typically powered by the wind, kinetic art is sculpture that contains moving parts.

Designers created their sculptures using a variety of sustainable materials such as recycled cans and bamboo. The goal of the art installation was to preserve energy resources and quality of the environment by utilizing natural means in harvesting energy; in this case, by the movement of objects powered by the wind.
